New Web Site
The El Cajon Police Department is launching a new website with the
goal of reaching out to members of the community. The website:
http://www.elcajonneighbors.org has been designed as an internet
resource for crime prevention. Users will be able to sign up for an
‘e-Alert’ list which will enable them to receive crime prevention
information as well as current trends throughout the city. This
website is specific to the City of El Cajon and will include a blog
where users can discuss community issues and resolutions.

El Cajon PD Is
Seeking Volunteers For the Retired Senior Volunteer Patrol (RSVP) Program
On Thursday, March 27, 2008 from 10 AM to noon, the El Cajon Police
Department will be conducting an RSVP recruiting event at the Elks
Lodge, located at 1400 E. Washington Avenue, El Cajon.
The El Cajon Police Department started the
RSVP program in the early
1990’s. The program is committed to the recruitment, development
and retention of talented volunteers who work with the El Cajon
Police Department and the community.
The RSVP members assist the Police Department in many ways. This
includes enforcement of handicapped parking regulations and they
assist officers by performing traffic control at accidents. The
RSVP volunteers also assist by documenting graffiti in the city for
possible prosecution by the police and removal by city workers.
The Y.A.N.A. (You Are Not Alone) program
is also part of the RSVP umbrella. This program consists of calling
and visiting homebound seniors who live in the city and culminates
with an outstanding holiday party in December.
If you are interested in volunteering for the RSVP program, contact
PSO Sue Carpenter at (619) 579-3354.
