Captain Jeff Davis has been with the City of El Cajon Police Department for over 27 years as both a volunteer and employee. He volunteered with the department in 1984 as a Reserve Police Officer and was hired by the city in 1986 as a regular Police Officer.
Jeff has served in all divisions of the department working in Investigations, Traffic and Training during which time he served as a training officer with the Regional Police Academy. Jeff was promoted to Sergeant in 2000 and Lieutenant in 2006. He has served with the department’s Special Weapons and Tactics (S.W.A.T.) team for 22 years, ending his assignment as the team’s Commanding Officer.
Jeff is a long time east county resident, having attended El Capitan High School, Grossmont Community College and San Diego Christian College. He is a graduate of the Supervisory Leadership Institute and Command College, both programs of the California Peace Officers Standards and Training organization.
The Support Bureau consists of units and divisions which “support” the overall operational functions of the emergency responders for the Police Department. Under the Support Bureau there are units such as the Investigations Division, the Forensic Laboratory, the Property Room, Records Division, Information Systems, Training Division, Internal Affairs, Animal Control, Mounted Police and the Volunteer Program.
