Captain Bruno Cirello – Support Commander
Captain Bruno Cirello was born and raised in Spring Valley, California. He graduated from Mt. Miguel High School in 1980, and was subsequently hired as a volunteer explorer by the El Cajon Police Department. The Department hired him as a full-time police officer in 1984. He worked in the Narcotic Unit and Gang Unit as a detective and as a detective sergeant. He is also an original member of the Department’s Special Weapons and Tactics Team, founded in 1988. He held the ranks of officer, sergeant and lieutenant on the team.
Captain Cirello is a current member, and past president, of the El Cajon Valley Lions Club. He and his family are long-time residents of East County. Captain Cirello received his Bachelors degree in Business Management from the University of Redlands and his Masters degree in Public Administration from National University. He is an Academy graduate of the Federal Bureau of Investigations 211th National Academy, at Quantico, Virginia.

The Support Bureau consists of units and divisions which “support” the overall operational functions of the emergency responders for the Police Department. Under the Support Bureau there are units such as the Investigations Division, the Forensic Laboratory, the Property Room, Records Division, Information Systems, Training Division, Internal Affairs, Animal Control, Mounted Police and the Volunteer Program.
